LOTUS CHOFFEL

Lotus Choffel is a London-based Set, Lighting and Costume Designer working across Fine Art, Theatre and Film.
 

Trained in Fine Art at Camberwell College of Arts before completing a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance Design at LIPA, her practice moves fluidly between disciplines, bringing a sculptor's instinct for space into every set she builds.

Her work is shaped by the principles of Japanese minimalism: radical simplicity, precise symbolism, and a refusal of excess. Lotus distills complex emotional territory into single, striking images, designs that say less, but linger longer.

​

She is steadily building a path in production design and art direction for film, drawn to stories that live in tension, constraint and psychological weight, from period true crime to intimate character drama. Skilled in trompe l'oeil, she specialises in making a space read as true on camera as it does in person, regardless of budget or scale.

​

Alongside her screen work, Lotus creates bespoke costume pieces for musicians and dancers, and conceives full visual identities, spanning costume, set and video art, for individual artists and performers.
